BARNSLEY have been linked with am ambitious move for former Tottenham Hotspur and Middlesbrough striker Mido.
The Egyptian has been reported to be in England this week having a medical at Oakwell and discussing personal terms over a one-year deal with the Championship club.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after being released by Egyptian club Zamalek and Tykes boss Keith Hill is keen on adding the experienced international to his squad for next season.
Talks are on-going and a decision from the player could come as soon as the end of the week.
The Reds are also understood to be closing in on former Chelsea midfielder Jacob Mellis.
The former Sheffield United man spent time on-loan at Oakwell last season and Hill could make the move a permanent one after Mellis was released by the Premier League club.
