Frickley Athletic have announced that Paul Baines is to be inducted into the football club as a vice-president at an evening event on Friday, November 16.

Steve White, already officially a vice-president, who missed the event last year due to ill health, will also be in attendance so he can be formally recognised on the evening.

In addition to Steve, the club inducted Terry McCroakam and Brian Bellwood as vice-presidents last year.

Paul and Steve will be joined by their respective friends and family and any supporters or anyone connected to them who wish to join them in this evening of celebration are welcome to attend.

The induction event will start at 6.30pm in the Pavilion and the club will provide an evening buffet for all attendees.

Interim manager John Stancliffe and some of the first team squad will also be in attendance to honour the stalwarts of the club.

Club director Ryan McKnight said: “As we discussed last year, being able to recognise the people who have made long-term outstanding contributions to the football club is something we should be doing and I can’t wait for this year’s event.

“The two guys being honoured on the 16th are the epitome of great club statesmen and supporters.

“They really understand what a football club is actually all about.”
