Hemsworth MW face a trip to East Yorkshire when they open their Toolstation NCE League campaign on Saturday, August 4.

Wayne Benn’s men are looking to improve on a best ever sixth place finish in the Premier Division last season and will be looking to get off to a fast start with fewer fixtures this time.

They begin away to Hall Road Rangers, who were deducted 12 points for fielding ineligible players and only just avoided relegation last term. Further league games follow in a busy first month for Wells with their first home game against Bottesford Town on Tuesday, August 14 then Handsworth Parramore away on the 18th, Staveley MW away on the 22nd and Harrogate Railway Athletic at home on the 25th.

Hemsworth had their pre-season game with Newark Flowserve postponed last Friday, but were in action on Tuesday night when entertaining the newly formed Ossett United.

After a goalless first half Ossett went on to win 2-0 to take home the Steve Kelly Trophy.

Wells’ next warm-up game is tonight (Friday) when they host a Barnsley XI (kick-off 7pm).
