FRICKLEY Athletic continued their preparations for the new season with a comfortable 3-0 win at Bridlington Town on Tuesday night.
Gavin Allott continued his top form in front of goal with a first-half hat-trick against the Northern Counties East League side.
The goals added to the two strikes the former Guiseley man netted at Hemsworth MW at the weekend and Blues boss Karl Rose was delighted with the outcome.
“Bridlington was a step-up in class for us because they’re a side who are used to winning so I was delighted with the result,” he said.
“We scored three goals in the first half and kept a clean sheet so it was a great result and great performance.
“We made some changes in the second half but the game was already over.”
Frickley took Danny South off at half-time after the striker suffered a knock, but Rose says the move was only a precautionary one.
Frickley’s next friendly match comes on Saturday when Stourport Swifts visit Westfield Lane (kick-off 2pm).
