THE draws for the Wakefield ARL cup competitions took place last night.
Both the Presidents Cup and Talbot and Falcon Cup draws were made, and reviewed, at a league members’ meeting.
The restructuring in the Pennine League has meant Sharlston Rovers A will join their first team in the Presidents Cup, which is for the top-six ranked winter-based teams from around the district.
The Weeland Road teams could lock horns in the semi-final of the competition should Sharlston’s first team defeat Crigglestone All Blacks in the first round.
Westgate Wolves host Ackworth Jaguars in the other first round tie, scheduled for Saturday, October 20, and the winner of that match will host Upton in the other semi-final.
The last-four dates are scheduled for Thursday, November 1.
The Brian McDermott City Plasterers Cup will now be competed by summer league teams in a round robin format. The winner will then take on the winner of the Presidents Cup.
In the Talbot and Falcon Cup Crofton Cougars will host Ryhill Hammers in the preliminary round.
The winner of that match will visit Wakefield City in the semi-final, while Eastmoor Dragons host Kinsley Raiders in the other last-four clash.
