Former Hemsworth martial arts teacher Marc Diakiese suffered a big setback in his UFC career when he lost his third contest in a row in Germany on Sunday.
Lightweight Diakiese was beaten on points by hometown favourite Nasrat Haqparast and his future in the prestigious UFC could be in doubt now.
The Doncaster-based man, who trains with Hemsworth fighter Scott Askham, won his first three contests in good style with the organisation and remained unbeaten in mixed martial arts contests, but a poor year has seen him lose three times in succession now.
In his latest bout that opened up the main card of the UFC Fight Night 134 event at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Diakiese lost all three rounds on the judges cards. He landed some decent blows, but found himself outstruck by his opponent.
Afterwards Diakiese said: “It wasn’t to be my night.
“I felt good going into the fight and my camp had been good. Another loss is not the end of the world and I will never quit. I will just keep learning. I will always keep my head held high.”
