Castleford Tigers have confirmed date changes for their next two home games in Super League.

The match against Wigan Warriors at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, due to take place on Sunday, March 8, will now be played two days earlier on Friday, March 6 with an 8pm kick-off.

Castleford’s home meeting with Salford Red Devils has also been altered from Sunday, March 22 to Friday, March 20 with an 8pm kick off.

Tigers chief executive Steve Gill explained: “After speaking with Daryl Powell and discussing the implications of a quick turnaround, we have reluctantly moved our Sunday afternoon game on the 8th of March with Wigan to a Friday night on 6th March. This will give the players a 48 hour longer recovery time for our Thursday evening game at Huddersfield Giants on 12th March.

“We have also had to move our home fixture with Salford to Friday 20th March due to Salford Red Devils requesting an earlier kick-off.

“As per the RFL directive we have had to comply with this request as Salford play on the following Thursday.

“I’d like to apologise for any inconvenience these changes make for our fans, and thank you in advance for your understanding.”

Tickets already bought for the Wigan game dated March 8 will still be honoured on Friday, March 6.
