Knottingley Town and Ferrybridge Power Station enjoy Beaumont Cup victories
While all of the scheduled matches in the Pontefract Cricket League were washed out last Saturday, seven games were able to be played in the Beaumont Cup.
Knottingley Town took full advantage of getting their game on as they comfortably defeated Denby Grange.
Their decision to put Grange in proved a fruitful one as they kept their hosts to 79-9 from their 20 overs. Matthew Stones claimed 3-16, John Clark 3-25 and Daniel Hayes 2-12 before Edward Booth (32no), Tristan Oselton (21) and Richard Carter (16no) brought Town home to win by a seven-wicket margin.
It was a similar story as Ferrybridge Power Station also beat Nostell St Oswald by seven wickets.
Nostell were restricted to 85-8 after being put in, Sam Angel taking 3-14, Jack Hart 2-9 and James Metcalfe 2-11.
Hart (35no) then followed up his bowling effort as he led Ferry home.
South Kirkby seconds were well beaten after being dismissed for just 50 to lose by 110 runs to Oulton.
