Castleford Tigers have completed the signing of Michael Channing on loan from London Broncos until the end of the 2013 Super League season.
The 21-year-old outside back has made 12 appearances for the capital side this season, scoring one try.
Channing is Daryl Powell’s second signing as Head Coach after Ben Davies arrived last month and Powell said he was looking forward to welcoming the Welsh international into the side.
He said: “I have watched Michael play for a number of months now and I’m really pleased with his addition to the squad.
“He’s got fantastic footwork, good pace and he’s a strong player who will continue to develop.
“He adds competition to the squad in the outside backs, just as Ben Davies has done with the forwards, so I’m really delighted with that and we’ll be looking to potentially tie up a longer term deal with Michael.”
Channing said that he was looking forward to linking up with the Tigers.
“I was looking at where I was going to learn the most and Cas seemed to tick all the boxes.
“I’ve heard a lot about Daryl Powell – hopefully I can learn a lot from him. I have the World Cup coming up at the end of the year so I want to learn everything that I can and become a better player.
“The fans here are great – I’ve played here before on the opposition’s side and it’s a tough place to come because of the atmosphere that the home fans create, so I’m looking forward to being a part of that.
“I’m going to give everything that I can and play my best for Castleford Tigers. I want to be a part of Cas because I know they’re going somewhere.”
