FEATHERSTONE Rovers are holding a special event at Big Fellas Stadium on Saturday, November 17, to celebrate the career of former club captain Stuart Dickens.

Dickens (pictured), who spent his entire 14-year playing career at Featherstone apart from a short spell at Salford City Reds, has hung up his boots to join Wakefield Wildcats as their new under 19s coach.

The celebration evening will feature a film highlighting Dickens’s career and will include interviews with former playing colleagues.

The ticket-only event will be attended by current Rovers first teamers and will include a curry and a pint for £10 per person. Rovers will make a donation to Pontefract Hospice from proceeds from the event.

Meanwhile, a Featherstone Rovers fans forum will be held next Tuesday (7.30pm).

Fans will be able to put questions to Rovers chief executive Craig Poskitt, club chairman Mark Campbell and Feisal Nahaboo, founder of Featherstone’s principal sponsor Probiz.

At the forum, there will be more news about the club’s recently launched membership scheme for 2013.
