Scrum-half Jamie Ellis is still hoping to be fit for the start of Castleford Tigers’ 2014 Super League season despite tearing a pectoral muscle in training last week.

The 24-year-old former Hull and Leigh player admitted to being “gutted” after picking up the injury on the first day back in training for the new season, but is expecting to recover fully by early February after undergoing surgery.

He told supporters via Twitter: “Just so people know, torn my peck in training, should be back fully fit in three months.”
