Castleford Tigers’ strength and conditioning coach Ben Cooper has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.
Cooper joined the coaching staff at the Tigers ahead of the 2013 Super League campaign and has played a key role in driving the fitness and well being standards at the club.
Tigers’ head coach Daryl Powell said: “I’ve been really impressed with Ben since I came to Castleford. Not only does he have a fantastic rapport with the players but he also pushes them hard on a consistent basis.
“He’s a key member of the coaching staff and is a quality individual so I’m delighted that he has signed a new deal.”
Cooper said: “Next year will be hugely important for the club and I’m looking forward to helping the players achieve the goals that they have set.
“We’re putting in a lot of work during the off-season to improve the overall environment for the players and we will be looking to build on the foundations we laid last year.
“There are some excellent coaches here and I’m really excited about continuing my work with them as we continue to move forwards.”
