BRAD Singleton is set to make his Wakefield Wildcats debut on Sunday when Featherstone Rovers visit the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for a pre-season trial game (kick-off 3pm).
Wildcats head coach Richard Agar has named a strong 19-man squad for the local derby, including young prop Singleton, who signed on a two-month loan with Wakefield from Leeds Rhinos last week.
Justin Poore and Reece Lyne, two of Wakefield’s other pre-season signings, are also set to make their home debuts against Wildcats’ Championship neighbours.
But notable absentees are Kyle Amor, Bobbie Goulding, Frankie Mariano, Lucas Walshaw and Kyle Wood.
The match will come on the back of Wakefield’s six-day warm weather training camp in Portugal and will be the club’s second of four trial games before the Super League kick-off.
Wakefield were defeated by Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day and will visit St Helens for Jon Wilkin’s testimonial before taking on Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday, January 27.
Wildcats squad: Mathers, Fox, Collis, Smith, Cockayne, Sykes, Smith, Poore, Aiton, Raleigh, Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Washbrook, Wilkes, Trout, Lyne, Wildie, Cowling, Singleton.
