FRICKLEY Athletic have beaten a host of clubs to the signing of striker Oliver Ryan.
The 25-year-old arrives at the Tech5 Stadium from Northwich Victoria and becomes boss Peter Rinkcavage’s fourth summer signing.
Ryan started his career at Lincoln City where he scored an incredible 119 goals in 125 reserve team appearances before going on to play 36 times for the first team.
Spells at Boston United and Harrogate Town followed before his switch to Northwich Victoria last summer.
And Rinkcavage is delighted to get his man.
“We tried to sign Ollie on deadline day last season, but our offer was turned down by Northwich, so we are really pleased to have secured him now,” he said.
“He had a number of clubs in for him so we are really pleased he chose us.
“He has scored goals wherever he has been and I would class him as a natural finisher but he has much more to his game than just scoring goals. He is quick, has a good touch and is very neat and tidy. He is only 25 but he has lots of experience of playing at good levels for big clubs and I believe he will make a big impact here.”
Ryan joins new signings Michael Simpkins, Alex Callery and Bradley Grayson at the South Elmsall club for the 2011-12 season.
