FRICKLEY Athletic will look to climb out of the Evo-Stik Premier Division relegation places with victory at Rushall Olympic tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Blues have two games to haul themselves out of relegation trouble and victory at Dales Lane could be crucial in their attempts to retain their Premier Division status.
Whitby Town, the side they’re chasing to escape the bottom four, don’t play until tomorrow night and Chasetown, the side directly above the Blues, have just one game to play the weekend.
It means Frickley’s chances of finishing above the bottom-four would receive a huge boost with three points tonight.
The South Elmsall side will go into the game nursing a 3-0 defeat suffered against Bradford Park Avenue at the weekend but knowing their hosts have nothing but pride to play for this season.
Rinkcavage and his men also know that the number of clubs relegated this season could be reduced from four to three.
Northwich Victoria have been found guilty of breaking league rules and will have their Northern Premier League membership cancelled at the end of the season.
It means the league is likely to reduce the number of teams dropping out of the Premier Division to balance up the numbers, although Northwich have said they ‘will most definitely be appealing the decision’.
Still, the Blues boss will undoubtedly be focusing firmly on his side escaping the drop through their own means without having to rely on a reduction of relegation places this term.
