ALL eyes will be on today’s FA Cup second qualifying round draw for Frickley Athletic after the Blues put their name in the hat with a 2-0 victory over Garforth Town on Saturday.
Goals from David Cyrus and James Ashmore either side of half-time saw Peter Rinkcavage’s men edge out their Evo-Stik Division 1 North opponents in the first qualifying round.
Cyrus, who decided to play for the South Elmsall side instead of in a World Cup qualifyer for Grenanda, opened the scoring against the run of play when he bundled home an Alex Callery corner in the first half.
Ashmore added the second with a 25-yard free-kick after the break to see Frickley book their place in the next round and pick up a cheque of around £3,000 for their efforts.
