FRICKLEY ATHLETIC came from behind to beat Kendal Town 2-1 and stretch their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.
The Blues fell behind as early as the ninth minute when Kendal skipper Shaun Gray was left unmarked to head his side in front from a corner kick.
But their joy was short-lived as Frickley hit back to get on level terms just two minutes later. Ollie Ryan was fouled inside the box and James Ashmore stepped up to drill in the resulting penalty.
Chances came at both ends before half-time, with Kevin Leadbetter hitting the crossbar with a free-kick for the visitors while Lincoln Adams and Danny Walsh both came close for the hosts.
The game was won nine minutes after the restart when Peter Knox ran onto a through ball before lobbing advancing Kendal stopper Craig Dootson with a superb effort.
The Cumbrians had two good chances to get on level terms for a second time but Frickley goalkeeper Stephen Dickinson was in top form and denied the visitors with two good saves.
