FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage insists he’d happily take a point from tonight’s crucial game at Evo-Stik Premier Division champions FC Halifax Town (kick-off 7.45pm).

A share of the spoils would help the Blues climb out of the relegation places with two games remaining this season.

But Frickley’s opposition couldn’t come any tougher with the Shaymen, already crowned champions this season, looking to smash the 100-point barrier.

Halifax sit on 93 points with three games to go ahead of tonight’s contest.

“If you were to give us the point now I’d take it,” said the Blues boss.

“In reality we’ve got to hope that Halifax have an off night and we have a good night because it’s going to be really tough going there.

“We need to show the same mentality that we showed at Northwich Victoria at the weekend and hopefully we can come back with something to show for our efforts.

“It would be a big boost if we were to get something from the game.”

Frickley have been dealt a blow ahead of the clash with the news that striker Ashley Burbeary will be out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

The South Elmsall side also has doubts over the fitness of Danny Walsh, Ashley Longstaff and Grant Darley, who are all rated as “doubtful” by Rinkcavage.

But the Blues can take heart from the fact they held Town to a 0-0 stalemate at the Tech5 Stadium in the reverse fixture last August.
