FRICKLEY Athletic recorded their first league double of the season when a polished performance saw them to a 3-1 victory over ten-man Burscough.
The Blues gave debuts to two new additions, goalkeeper Stephen Dickinson, who arrived from Ossett Town, and left-back Ben Turner, who signed on-loan from Worksop Town ahead of the game.
And they made the perfect start when Ollie Ryan fired them ahead after just two minutes.
Burscough hit back though and experienced hitman Mark Beesley got them on level terms after ten minutes.
In a see-saw encounter Peter Rinkcavage’s men regained the lead in the 23rd minute through Brad Grayson and they never looked back.
The visitors perhaps should have extended their lead with good chances either side of half-time but the hosts left themselves with a mountain to climb when Paul Williams received a straight red card after hacking down Grayson when he was through on goal.
And the Blues all-but sealed the three points with nine minutes to go when Turner netted on his debut.
