AN understrength Frickley Athletic bowed out of the Sheffield Senior Cup at the quarter-final stage last night with a 3-0 home loss against Sheffield FC.

James Gregory, Chris Adam and Sam Barnsley bagged the goals to send the visitors through to the last-four.

The Blues were without a number of key players for the clash due to some being cup-tied, some injured and some unavailable due to work commitments.

Boss Peter Rinkcavage had only a dozen players to call upon, and it showed as the Division 1 South side dominated throughout.

Sheffield FC knocked the Blues out of the FA Cup earlier in the season and made it a cup ‘double’ against Frickley.

Rinkcavage won’t be too concerned about the result though, given Frickley’s priorities are with league survival, and he’ll be looking for his men to bounce back at Stocksbridge Park Steels, his former club, in the Premier Division this weekend.
