Blues appoint Rinkcavage as new manager

FRICKLEY Athletic have moved quickly to appoint Billy Heath's successor at the Tech5 Stadium by naming Peter Rinkcavage as manager.

The Blues slumped to a 7-1 defeat at Buxton at the weekend following the departure of Heath and the South Elmsall club have moved fast to get Rinkcavage in place.

He'll be in charge of the team for tonight's Evo-Stik Premier Division clash against Hucknall Town at Westfield Lane (kick-off 7.45pm).

The 40-year-old has only recently left Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals Worksop Town, where he spent three years as manager, after guiding them to second in the table prior to his departure last Tuesday.

He previously had three seasons in charge at Stocksbridge Park Steels, guiding them to two top-six finishes in the Northern Premier League Division 1 and enjoying a Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup win.

The former Sheffield Wednesdday player has plenty of non-league experience, having also had a spell as assistant manager at Gainsborough Trinity and six years as assistant boss at Worksop.
