BARNSLEY will be looking for a return to winning ways on Boxing Day when they host Blackpool at Oakwell (kick-off 3pm).
The Reds have suffered back-to-back defeats and will target the visit of the Tangerines as a chance to get ‘back on the bike’ and give Tykes fans some festive cheer.
Manager Keith Hill will certainly be looking for an improvement from the last time his side took to the Oakwell pitch, when Ipswich Town left with a 5-3 victory.
The Reds also lost to promotion-chasing West Ham at the weekend, 1-0, and they’ll be eager to bounce back against Ian Holloway’s men.
Just two points separate the sides going into the contest and Barnsley can leapfrog their opponents in the npower Championship table with a win.
Three points will also set them up nicely for what’s set to be a thrilling derby clash at home against Leeds United on New Year’s Day.
