“They will hopefully help pass a few hours in the day, once the home-schooling has finished, and the great thing is that you’ve got something to show for your work once it’s done.”

These are NetVoucherCodes.co.uk’s ideas for fun crafts to entertain the kids:

1. OrigamiAll that’s needed is pieces of paper for this fun craft. There’s plenty of different tutorials and instructions online, so you can soon turn a piece of paper into a little butterfly or bird. These can then be painted and hung around the house, or in windows, to create a fun display.

2. Toilet roll innardsThere’s always plenty of these around the house, so can be a great idea to make something fun with. The opportunities are endless, with animals being a great thing to create. Paint the tube then use other pieces of card to create tails or perfect the head shape.

3. Papier MacheYou can really let your imagination run wild when it comes to Papier Mache. All you need it some newspaper, or any other paper you have lying about which is cut into strips. You can then make the Papier Mache paste which is a one to one ratio of flour to water.Dip the paper strips into the Papier Mache mix, then using a mould, such as a bowl or a balloon, layer the strips on top of each other.Leave overnight to set then have some fun with paints and pens. Some ideas for Papier Mache crafts include volcanoes and hot air balloons.

4.SewingCollect any scraps of material you have around the house, and they can be turned into a whole number of things. All that’s needed is a needle and some threads, and cushion covers, and throws can easily be made. You could even start out small and make a little purse. There are lots of instructions and templates available online.

5. PaintingEvery child loves painting but thinking outside the box about what they can paint can add to the fun of it. If you have some old drawers or tables which you were considering throwing out, let them have fun with paint over them, then this could become the new storage for their arts and crafts utensils.
