Met Office issues yellow weather warning for Wakefield as heavy rain and strong winds are forecast

The district is still recovering from floods caused by Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis last month, but the Met Office has once again warned of floods across Yorkshire as more heavy rain heads towards us.
The forecast for today will see scattered showers throughout the day with some bright spells developing.

Tonight:
Windy with heavy rain at first this evening. The rain becoming light and patchy in the east, but further persistent. Winds remaining strong. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Tuesday:
Outbreaks of rain through the morning, should gradually clear south and east. Sunny spells and a few showers for the afternoon. Windy, but very mild. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Often windy through Wednesday and Thursday, with bright spells and blustery showers, becoming wintry over hills. Turning rather cold. Winds probably ease on Friday, mostly dry start, showers later.
