VIDEO: Sandal church rang the bells for the Tour de Yorkshire
The chimes of St Helen’s Sandal Magna could be heard above the roar of the crowd as the peloton swung past the church on Barnsley Road at about 12.30pm.
The church was a hive of activity on race day. Coffee and cake was also served at a roadside stall.

Rev Rupert Martin, vicar of St Helen’s, said the bells rang for a full hour for the cyclists and the church was glad to be part of a “great, joyful occasion”.
