THREE people have been charged with the attempted murder of a former QEGS pupil.
Daniel Whiteley, 19, was found seriously injured in a water-filled ditch at the bottom of an embankment in Platt Fields park, Fallowfield, Greater Manchester, last Tuesday.
The first-year Manchester University student received multiple injuries to his head and body, and is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Michael Brownlie, 26, Nicholas Lindsay, 21, and Katie Mongan, 18, all of Longsight in Manchester, have now been charged in connection with the incident.
They were due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Police had struggled to identify Mr Whiteley, who completed his A levels at the Northgate school, for 36 hours until officers found a set of keys in the ditch.
