ENTHUSIASTIC fundraisers want residents to join them on the Prince of Wales Hospice’s annual Memory Walk.
The 10km trek on a scenic route around the Ackworth area takes place on Sunday March 11, starting at the Beverley Arms in Ackworth at 10.30am.
Joyce Stainer, of Castleford, who has taken part in the last four Memory Walks, said: “I really enjoy the walk because it’s non-competitive, everyone can take part. There’s no pressure to rush, we set our own speed and enjoy talking to people along the way.
“I have known people who have stayed at the hospice and they are so well looked after and cared for.
“The hospice does a lot of good for people in this area, it’s as simple as that, I want to support a good local cause.”
Places are still available, entry costs £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for under 16s and entries should be submitted by Wednesday March 7.
