The sun shone down on the thousands of festival-goers that ventured to Pontefract Park last weekend for the Crooked Ways festival.

The Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, The Pigeon Detectives and many up and coming bands took to the four stages on Saturday to showcase their talent.

This is the second year the festival has taken place and Crooked Ways managing director Barry Malki said it was even better than last year.

He said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere and it was even better received than last year’s festival.”

He put this down to the bigger variety of bands across the four stages.

Mr Malki added: “Grandmaster Flash was the highlight of the event, he was fantastic. He had the crowds in the palm of his hand.”

Mr Malki said he hoped the festival would take place again next year.
