Super fundraisers from across Morley jumped into action for this year’s Children in Need.
Pupils at Fountain Primary School donned superhero costumes, princess outfits and their pyjamas to raise money for the annual appeal. At Tingley’s West Lea Park Day Nursery children had a pyjama day and baked lots of delicious buns.
Shoppers looked on as staff at Morley’s Asda store worked in fancy dress costumes and their onesies to help fill their collection buckets and MP Ed Balls popped by to give his support.
Since the appeal started, Children in Need has raised more than £740m to support disadvantaged and vulnerable children across the country.
The BBC’s first broadcast appeal for children was a five minute radio broadcast on Christmas Day in 1927.
And loveable mascot Pudsey Bear was named after the town where his creator grew up.
