South Elmsall Sea Cadets are appealing for new members.

The organisation, provides youngsters aged 10 to 17 with the chance to take part in activities including water sports and offshore trips.

Youngsters can also learn navigation skills, first aid and support community events through marshalling and providing first aid.

Alan Wells, petty officer at South Elmsall Sea Cadets, said: “We are currently trying to recruit new local kids.

“The sea cadets is a good way to teach, help and encourage the development of young people.

“We teach them to be upstanding members of the community as well as providing opportunities to learn new skills and try new things.”

The group meets at the Social Centre on Westfield Lane on Monday and Wednesday 7pm until 9pm.
