Residents and staff from an independent living scheme walked more than 500 miles to raise money for Sport Relief.

More than 50 people from WDH’s Carlton Court Independent Living Scheme, South Elmsall, raised £1,300 by taking part in a one million step challenge within a week. The residents enjoyed regular step challenges to music, with residential scheme manager Dawn Galvin.

She said: “The challenge has been amazing and I am so proud of them all for taking part. Everyone has been so generous. We’re going to continue doing the step sessions because everyone loved taking part and it keeps them all active.”
