CHARITABLE students were rewarded for their efforts after raising £200 for the Poppy Appeal.

The six pupils from Minsthorpe Community College, who are hoping for careers in the services, worked hard selling the red paper flowers around school in November.

Graham Lawrance, Royal British Legion representative for South Elmsall, presented Alex Bolton, Josh Dawson, Katie Holman, Josh Perkins, Alex Taylor and Jodie Whitehouse with a certificate.

He visited the school on Minsthorpe Lane last week and said thank you for their dedication and also to the school for their ten years’ service to raising money for the appeal.

Teacher Barbara Mawtus helped organise the students’ fundraising said: “Luke Farmer was a pupil here, and I and the students feel it is such an important charity to raise money for and will continue to do so in the future.”
