11-year-old Travis was found abandoned in a field in rural Ireland, after a farmer visiting a flock of sheep spotted the large white dog abandoned and tied to some fencing.
He was then taken into care by Jade Brightmore, who runs 8 Below Husky Rescue in Wakefield

Hide AdJade says it is a miracle that Travis, a Husky/German Shepherd cross, was found, after he had been abandoned in such a remote area.
Three months on, she is now searching for potential adopters to take Travis in.
She said: “Travis is such a fantastic dog, his manners are lovely and he knows basic commands and he knows how to sit when asked - which suggests someone’s done some training with him throughout his life.
“He’s got a really nice nature and he’s so full of love. He’s a big boy which isn't surprising because he’s a German shepherd husky cross.

“I can’t believe he hasn’t drummed up much interest - but that could be because of his age or that when people visit the husky rescue, they have their hearts set on adopting a purebred husky or malamute.
“So maybe our audience isn’t the best for him, but I just know he'd make a great companion for someone.”
As well as being extremely friendly, Jade says Travis loves walking and being active.

Hide AdWhen he was rescued, he was found to be severely overweight, which if not tackled promptly, could impact his joints in the long run - so he is on a strict diet plan for the time being.
Baffled by the lack of interest in Travis, Jade sought the help of Michael Hirst of Yorkshire Folk photography and videography to showcase Travis to the public in hopes of finding him a home.
Jade said: “I’m really grateful for Michael’s help, now hopefully people will watch the video and they'll see for themselves just how lovely Travis is when he interacts with people.
“I’m also really grateful for ‘Poochie Park’ in Sherburn for letting us film the video there.

“He just needs a nice calm home to spend the rest of his life in and I really hope someone shows interest in him soon.”
Anyone interested in adopting Travis is asked to fill out the enquiry form on the 8 Below website.
