The Real Junk Food Project has partnered up with a Leeds restaurant to host a special Christmas experience for families struggling this December.

Adam Smith, founder of TRJFP, and with My Thai in Leeds will  provide Christmas dinner for families of six every weeknight beginning December,1 to Christmas Eve.

Families will be able to enjoy a buffet and also receive presents and enjoy entertainment every weeknight between 4pm and 6pm.

Adam said: "2020 has been a horrible year, we have lost family members and friends, but it is coming up to a special time of year now and there is a lot of negative in the world.

"We want something positive and to give people a moment they will remember and cherish for the rest of their lives being sat with their family."

The charity is hoping to attract families on low incomes who may be struggling this Christmas to allow them to be able to celebrate with their family.

The Christmas event will be hosted at LS-Ten Skatepark in Hunslet, and will be catering for 10 families of six each night with over the top decorations filling the venue.

Any food that is left over will be donated to Hidden Homeless in Leeds to be distributed across the city.

But first the TRJFP needs to raise £5,000 to cover the costs of the presents, staff and chef for the month long event.

A booking system will be launched for families to register for the event and more details will be released at a later date..

Social distancing measures will be in place in accordance with government guidelines with screens in place and cleaning stations.
