A prison near Wakefield is investigating if it is possible to build a solar farm within its grounds.
An application has been submitted to Wakefield Council’s planning department to conduct an environmental impact statement at HMP New Hall at Flockton.
A habitat survey has already found that there are likely to be “protected and notable species” within the grounds of the prison.
