Castleford Tigers have confirmed that player of the year Junior Moors has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.
The 30-year-old Samoan international has become a fans favourite with his brand of hard running and strong tackling.
He joined Cas ahead of the 2015 season from NRL side Melbourne Storm and swept the board at the Tigers 2016 presentation evening, picking up the fans’ player of the year, players’ player of the year and player of the year awards.
On his new contract, he said: “I’m really happy to have extended my deal with Cas. My family and I are really settled here and I love playing with these boys. 2017 will be a big season for us and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Tigers head coach Daryl Powell said: “I’m delighted that Junior has agreed to extend his contract with the club.
After a slow start in 2015 he had an enormous 2016, being one of the best forwards in Super League.
“His ball carry and his ability with his skill as a forward gives us an extra dimension in our game. I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and we will see the very best of Junior Moors in the next few years.”
