A HEMSWORTH man was found dead in a prison cell.
Adam Michael Wileman, 21, of Hawthorne Crescent, was discovered hanging in his cell at HMP Doncaster on Monday, August 22.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Wileman was being held on remand accused of actual bodily harm.
He was sent from Pontefract Magistrates’ Court on February 1.
A prison service spokesman said: “Staff attempted resuscitation and paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead.”
His inquest opened on August 31 at Doncaster Coroner’s Court.
He was formally identified by his father, Shaun Wileman.
The case was adjourned for further medical tests to be carried out.
An investigation will take place by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman surrounding his death.
Family and friends of Mr Wileman, who attended Hemsworth Arts and Community College, have raised more than £2,000 in his memory with a charity walk, see below.
