Letter - Time for MP to speak on expenses row

Last week the Express kindly printed a letter from myself, regarding changes in the law.

Almost on cue there are questions being asked about the activities of our MP.

I do not know enough on this issue to make judgement, but it seems to me that some light ought to be shed by the person best placed for that to happen, that person is Mr Trickett himself.

He has virtually a column exclusively placed every month in your newspaper, which gives him the opportunity to give a full account on any subject he cares to comment on.

It is important that he does this quickly, as MP he holds the highest office of the land, and should be seen to be squeaky clean. Furthermore, if local people have any doubt regarding his conduct, they have the right to question him, without fear or favour.

It’s called democracy.
