Letter - Poppy appeal thanks

The Royal British Legion Hemsworth branch would like to thank all who helped with this year’s poppy appeal.

We’d like to thank local businesses, schools, Hemsworth Town Council and the volunteers selling poppies at Tesco and Iceland for their genourous donations and support.

To Father Robert at St Helen’s Church for the Remembrance Day service and donating the collection to the appeal.

To Peter Reed, parade marshall, and the Normanton and Altofts Brass Band. To Ann Smith and Celia Tordoff for refreshments on Remembrance Sunday. To Tony Upson and president Leslie Wheater for talking the salute at the remembrance gardens. Finally to the public and organisations who attended the Remembrance Day parade.

This year’s appeal raised a total of £10,253.80. This is a fantastic result, thank you for raising this money.
