THE LANDLORDS of a Brierley pub will by calling last orders for the final time on Saturday.
Roger and Kathryn Butterworth have run the Robin Hood at Brierley crossroads for 27 years, but will retire at the weekend.
Mr Butterworth, 64, said: “We would like to thank all our customers, some of whom have used the Robin Hood since we opened nearly 27 years ago.
“We thank you all for making our years at the Robin Hood an enjoyable time.”
Mr Butterworth also added a special thanks to all the staff, who he said it had been “a pleasure” to work with over the years.
He added: “We’re had a great time and we’ll miss all the regulars, they were all upset when we broke the news last week.”
Before they opened the Robin Hood, the Butterworths, who are originally from Grimethorpe, ran the Melbourne Arms on Barnsley Road, Hemsworth, which was recently demolished after being left to ruin.
