Dedicated duo Steve Burton and Carl Easton will be taking on an epic bike ride to raise funds for a charity close to their hearts.
The pair, from Hemsworth, will cycle 187 miles from their home town to Whitby before heading onto Scarborough.
They will then cycle back to Hemsworth.
Mr Easton, of Wortley Place, and Mr Burton, of Southmoor Road, will be raising funds for the British Heart Foundation in memory of Mr Easton’s father who died from a heart attack. Mr Easton, 38, and Mr Burton, 31, will bike 100 miles on October 4, followed by 87 miles home the following day.
Mr Easton said: “We lost my dad 11 years ago when he had a heart attack.
“I was approaching the age my dad was when he died and, to be honest, I thought it was about time I did a bit more on the health and fitness side so it didn’t happen to me.
“I had always liked biking and it just stemmed from there really.
“My friend Steve and I thought it would be good to do something for the British Heart Foundation so we organised this event.
“We just want to raise as much money as possible and would appeal to people to donate as much as they can, because even if it is just a small amount, it will help.
“It is a bit of everything really - about enjoying the cycle ride, keeping us fit and healthy and raising funds and awareness for a really good cause.”
