Manager Karl Rose looks on gloomily as his team go 2-0 down

Frickley Athletic’s busy start to the new season continues with Saturday and midweek games again this week.

Karl Rose’s men are on their travels this Saturday when they face Stafford Rangers, who were promoted to the Premier last season and were left without a game on the opening day due to opponents Ilkeston FC being suspended due to a breach of the league’s rules. Kick-off is 3pm.

The Blues then return home next Tuesday, entertaining Stourbridge (7.45pm), who began with a 2-0 defeat at Warrington Town.

Manager Rose will be hoping to have a stronger squad available after being without four players for their unsuccessful first match.

Frickley have been handed an away draw when they enter the FA Cup at the first qualifying round stage.

They face a tough test when away to notorious cup battlers Blyth Spartans in a tie set to take place on Saturday, September 3 (3pm).

Frickley, meanwhile, are holding their annual golf day again this year at Hickleton Golf Club on Thursday, September 15.
