All dedications received by the hospice before Thursday, December 15, will be printed in the paper to provide a special tribute.
The names of those remembered will also be printed within Books of Remembrance. These books are for all to see and will be on display at each service.
You do need not have lost someone special at the hospice to dedicate a light. This special way of remembering is open to everyone who is missing someone special this Christmas. You can choose to dedicate a light in remembrance, or simply sponsor a light to show support for your local charity.
The appeal is aiming to raise £30,000 and hundreds of dedications have already been received.
The hospice, which provides specialist, palliative care in the Express area, costs around £2m a year to run.
You can sponsor a light and have the name of a loved one in the Express and the Books of Remembrance by visiting the Hospice website, www.pwh.org.uk or by phoning 01977 781476.
