West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at around 2.43pm today (Thursday) to reports of a fire in a field on Hoyle Mill Road, Kinsley.

It is understood that pallets in the field have caught on fire.

In a tweet, WYFRS said: "Firefighters are currently dealing with a fire involving pallets in a field in Hoyle Mill Road, Kinsley, Pontefract Three engines from @WYFRS and 7 from @SYFR in attendance."

Ten pumps were called to help tackle the blaze, including three crews from West Yorkshire and seven from South Yorkshire.

From WYFRS, there is one fire engine from Kilingbeck, Skelmenthorpe and Dewsbury fire stations, plus the hose laying unit from Mirfield Fire Station.
