Promising South Elmsall footballer Frank Mulhern has signed a new contract to stay with Leeds United for another year.
The 19-year-old striker signed his first professional contract last summer and was the joint top goalscorer for United’s under 21s last season after finding the net eight times from 25 appearances.
He said: “I’m delighted to have extended my stay at Leeds.
“I’ve been at the club for a while now and I really want to kick on.
“It’s been good to get back into pre-season and start working with the lads again.
“There are a lot of young players at the club and everyone is trying to make an impression going into the new season.
“I scored a few goals with the under 21s last season and hopefully I can continue that and show what I can do.”
Mulhern qualifies through his family to play for the Republic of Ireland and has played for their under 19s.
Older brother Robbie is making his name in rugby league, formerly playing for Leeds Rhinos before joining Hull KR this season.
