TRADERS at South Elmsall have been offered financial help from a new scheme set up by Wakefield Council.
It has been designed to help existing traders expand their businesses as well as providing support for new businesses.
A number of different offers will be available including including four weeks trading either for free, with a 50 per cent discount or a 25 per cent discount.
The scheme will also offer traders support from a dedicated business advisor and a banner to display the business name on their stall.
Coun Denise Jeffery, deputy leader, said: “As well as helping new businesses we also want to support those that already trade at our markets so the scheme will be open to existing traders who wish to try out a new market and the business support is available on request to any existing trader at any of our markets.”
The scheme is being launched at South Elmsall market from Friday, July 20, and at Castleford Market from Thursday, July 19.
There will be information meetings at The Cedars Centre, on Barnsley Road, Hemsworth, from 10am every Wednesday.
