Power has been restored after streets in Wakefield were left without electricity for almost 24 hours.

A power cut was reported around the College Grove area of the city on Sunday night at around 9pm.

It affected around 140 homes around Geneva Grove, Berne Grove and Marizon Grove area (pictured).

Northern Powergrid told residents there had been problems with cables supplying that area and was working to restore power.

The company said power should have been restored to most homes by 5pm on Monday.
