A SOUTH Elmsall construction company has refused to let the recession affect its performance by appointing two new senior members of staff and an apprentice.

Harris Construction Management (HCM), which is based on Elmsall Way, is also predicting its turnover could grow by £10m over the next 12 months after it secured a number of new contracts.

The company has appointed Gary Jordan as a senior projects engineer and Lucy Noonan as business development manager.

And 16-year-old Robert Rutter also joins the firm as an apprentice joiner.

Jason Adlam, managing director of HCM, said: “At a time when parts of the construction industry are struggling we’ve been able to continue growing and winning new customers over the last 12 months and we already have a strong pipeline of work that we’re due to start next year.

“Appointing Gary and Lucy will help to support this growth and both bring fantastic track-records and plenty of experience to their respective roles which has immediately made them key figures within our team.

“It’s also a difficult time for young people to find jobs so we’re delighted to recruit Robert as an apprentice.”
