Castleford Academy staff rap out a message
Sitting down to learn algebra and trigonometry isn’t at the top of most teenagers’ favourite pastimes.
But creative staff at Castleford Academy have helped to make it more appealing by producing their own music video.

Jo Cross, assistant headteacher, said: “Banging on to students about revision and its importance sometimes does not have the desired impact.
“As a result, a team of staff spent some time designing an innovative way to launch this year’s revision programme and encourage year 11 students to start their preparation for their crucial exams. Despite the serious message, the light-hearted video is used to engage students in revision. Credit must go to the staff who volunteered to create and film this imaginative video.”
The video – which has been screened at the school – features footage shot at Savile Park, the school and around Castleford.
Pupils will sit their GCSE exams in May and June.
