Boxer Amir Khan and Wakefield’s Penny Appeal have been to Cumbria to support flood victims.
After touring the streets of Carlisle and witnessing the devastation at first-hand on Saturday, the two-time world champion helped to move residents’ furniture and other items.
The Penny Appeal,of Wood Street, helped organise a solidarity day at a community Centre, where Mr Khan served hot lunch to locals and handed out some early festive presents to young children.
He then went back on to the streets to hand-deliver food parcels and hot meals to the elderly and the isolated.
